Press release: Maonah Association strongly condemns the killing and injuring of dozens of students at the Police Academy today in Sana'a ... Maonah Association reiterates its appeal to the international community to speed international investigations into terrorism crimes that took place in Yemen, and it discusses today with the Amnesty International delegation in Sana'a the conditions and violations of human rights in Yemen.

The Maonah Association for Human Rights and Immigration strongly Condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the students of the Police academy today Wednesday: 11 th / July / 2012 / during their exit from the gate of college to spend the weekend, and it expressed in the statement released today its condemnation and denunciation of the ugly crime, which left dozens of martyrs and wounded of innocent victims of the students, and that this heinous crime comes in light of the continued increase in terrorist acts of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula against Yemeni civilians and military personnel during the previous period, and the Association pointed out in a statement: strong indignation over the attitude of the international community about the recurrence of these terrorist crimes and not opening international investigations of crimes that harm the international security and peace at regional and local levels, despite the repeated claims of the Association to the international community to stand firm against all the crimes of terrorism, which kills Yemeni again and again and in full view of the world. And we did not hear from it any true partnership in the fight against terrorism but only issuing statements of condolences and statements of condemnation and denunciation without translation of this partnership in practice and reflect in serious actions determined to stop these operations carried out by this organization and fiercely against the Yemenis, as well as to pursue the elements of terrorism and those who stand behind them in front of an to international judiciary, and this is only possible through the formation of an international criminal court to consider all terrorist offenses in Yemen due to the weakness and lack of Yemeni judiciary in the current situation and because such crimes require the expertise and competencies what assures justice against the perpetrators of these crimes, the association said: that the international community if it does not react with the request for investigations in the international crimes of terrorism in Yemen, it is a key partner in the commission of these crimes with al-Qaeda in the shedding of the Yemenis innocent blood.

On the other hand the Association said in a statement: that its lawyer Mohammed Ali Alao met this afternoon in Sana'a, Ms. Dina Al-Mamon and the Amnesty International delegation visiting Yemen currently, and that he was reviewing the situation and human rights abuses that took place in Yemen during the past period and the role of the Association in monitoring and documenting cases of violations, as the President of the Association handed over to the international delegation the monitoring reports and documentation issued by the Association and which has been appreciated and thanked for by the delegation of Amnesty international for its contents of data, information and new evidence, and they reviewed, the human rights situation and the challenges that Yemen faces now and in particular human rights organizations.
The Association concluded its statement by appealing to the UN Security Council and the United Nations and all international organizations of solidarity with its campaign to press for urgent international investigations in these terrorist crimes by forming a special international criminal tribunal for crimes of terrorism in Yemen. The Association at the conclusion of its statement prayed for the souls of the martyrs who fell in the this heinous crime, asking God to accept them in his mercy, and that his mercy will inspire parents and their families patience and fortitude, and to save our country, and protect the blood of the Yemenis from al-Qaeda, the Association also appealed to the Yemeni government to take care of the 'families of martyrs and the wounded.
