A call from the people of Yemen to the Late Founding President of the United States of America, George Washington.

Mr. Founding President, you being the first president and the founder of a truly free and democratic nation, we, the people of Yemen send our greetings to you while you rest in your grave. Our greetings carry the values of freedom, democracy and equality, the very values you built your nation on.

We come to you in the name of 27 million Yemenis who are living under terrible oppression from the current American administration. Yemenis today mark the passing of an entire year of daily annihilation due to a genocidal external war that has been waged on Yemen. This inhumane war being waged by The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Yemen's 27 million civilians through no fault of their own and by one of the most brutal and aggressive regimes in the world today, is being wholly supported by the current American government.

Mr. Founding President, are you aware that Yemen is the only Arab nation that has chosen to follow and implement democracy and the peaceful transition of power as part of the Republic of Yemen's constitution? Are you aware, that Yemen is the only true democracy in a region where our regional neighbors are brutally ruled by totalitarian, undemocratic, and autocratic rulers who oppress their people and do not recognize any of the internationally accepted human rights laws? Some of these nations like Saudi Arabia, go to the extent of disallowing their female citizens from driving a car, and yet this despotic regime is unfortunately fully supported and favored by the current American administration. Are you aware, that the Saudi regime has been and for an entire year, bombing Yemen using American-made weapons? Are you aware that your weapons are being used to kill, injure and destroy our women and children, our infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals, factories, food storage facilities, and public markets? Your weapons are responsible for the death and injury of tens of thousands of innocent civilians. But that's not all! Saudi Arabia has imposed an illegal suffocating land, sea and air blockade on Yemen, and has used the blatant immoral and illegal support of your successor President Barack Obama as cover for its inhumane actions against Yemen. To add insult to injury, it was from your capital, that the drums of war were sounded and Decisive Storm announced to the world with no UN-mandate. The irony lies in that your capital, which was built and founded on the very essence of freedom, peace, democracy and humanity was used as the altar on which these very values were sacrificed.

Mr. Founding President, we voice to you today our complains against the stance of your current government against our people and it's continued support both directly and indirectly to the unjust and uncalled for Saudi aggression on Yemen. This blatant support in itself constitutes a complete rebellion against and disregard for, the very values that you have founded your great nation upon. And so, here we are today Mr. Founding President, a year after the start of this aggression on our people, demoralized due to the disregard of your current administration and the international community at large, to our pleas and suffering. We call on you today, while you rest in your grave, we call on your people through the values you uphold as a nation, we call upon all freedom and justice loving people of the world and their governments to stand up against the worst holocaust since World War II that the people of Yemen are being brutally subjected to by Saudi Arabia and its coalition. We call on you to help save our democracy, and our freedom both of which are being murdered daily with the support and under the cover of the current American administration.

Your excellency, Mr. Founding President , we live on the hope that perhaps the dead may hear our pleas after the living turned a deaf-ear to the suffering of 27 million Yemenis . We wait for the echo of the plea we make today to reach those in Washington D.C who still have a conscience to work towards halting the sale of American weapons to the Saudis and their coalition. It is our hope that those who still believe in upholding the values of democracy and humanity will exert a dedicated effort in living up to the values they treasure by restoring peace and security, and by serving justice to our people. We make this plea from this podium today after the current American government let us down by siding with the aggressor Saudi Arabia against the people of Yemen due to it's interest in Saudi oil which has been all along the culprit behind the silence of the world towards this monstrous crime against Yemen.

Finally, we ask God to give you eternal peace, and to uphold the values you sacrificed for, as do we pray for thousands of our civilians who have been killed in this unjust war.

This complaint has been lodged in New York City on March 26th, 2016.
