1 - Definition of coalition ((partners))

The coalition of Yemeni civil society organizations (Partners) is a framework for a open civil partnership between the associations and institutions that have signed it, it was created and its ethical charter was signed on Tuesday 19/2/2008 in the presence of the representatives of civil organizations the Founders , which represent the various components of Yemeni civil society .

2 - Objectives

* The promotion and creation of institutional mechanisms for partnership and consensus attitudes and perceptions and visions of future strategies involved in the promotion of a culture of peace and defense of human rights and freedoms and promoting the values of civic culture and democratic principles for the public interest of mankind.

* Solidarity with any legal rights or demands of any coalition member, and to stand against any violations that may be exposed to any organization affiliated with the coalition, under the concept of partnership in promoting the rights and freedoms.

* The pursuit of the realization of the right to sustainable development based on the guarantee of human rights and defending it with neutrality and independence.

* Work to promote and protect human rights in accordance with international standards and national legislation, without distinction between citizens

* The development of awareness of human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights as contained in the regional and international declarations and covenants and agreements.

* Seek to improve and develop the legislative structure and purification of the laws in violation of international conventions of human rights.

* Strengthening of relations with all institutions and organizations, local, regional and international and the development of mechanisms and activities that lead to the protection of human rights in Yemen and the world.

3 – message

Promote a culture of peace, love and brotherhood among nations and peoples, and common defense of the rights of sustainable development based on respect for human rights, through the use of mechanisms of the initiative, monitoring and integrated research and policy analysis, and
dissemination of knowledge and capacity development of groups and target communities, in order to better life for our communities and peoples of the world.

4 – Vision

The vision of the coalition of Yemeni civil society institutions (partners) evolve in the promotion of international peace and security and sustainable development and ensuring human rights for all people, such development is based on having built a government allows local communities control over their lives and monitoring it which its achievement depends on on the realization of the principles of peace, love and equality and participation, transparency, accountability and non-discrimination and preserve the national constants.


5 – Purpose

The coalition ((partners)) seeks to become the gateway to peace and coexistence and to provide information and ideas on solving the challenges of development and promotion of human rights wherever they may be, seeking to find solutions based on the participation of all relevant parties.

6 - Principles

* Human rights for all
• Participation and transparency in decision-making
* Respect for cultural diversity and economic equality
* The right of everyone to receive and send information and provide ways for all knowledge resources
* Anti-corruption and judicial independence
* Tolerance and dialogue

7 - Work areas

* Peace-building and tolerance
* Promotion of human rights and public freedoms
* Immigration and Refugee
* Gender
* Building the capacity of target groups
* Independence of the Judiciary
* Sustainable development

8 - The activities and mechanisms and means of the coalition

* Participate in organizing workshops and training courses, seminars and conferences to discuss the human rights situation and to study ways to defend and develop it.
* Participate in the formation of a network of volunteers and activists and those interested in the service of human rights issues and networking with other civil institutions.
* Use various tools and positive initiatives "incentive" that contribute to the consolidation of the values of peace, strengthen the principles of tolerance and dialogue, and tackle racism.
* To launch of a website specializing in issues of human rights and development.
* The launch of a satellite channel specialized in the manufacture of peace and human rights issues and development.

9 - The structure of the coalition

The leadership of the coalition is collective and the membership is for organizations and not individuals and consists of: -
A - President of the coalition, the position is honorary and elected by the majority members and must be a major figure with a general effect.
B - General Coordinator of the coalition -, which is first executive position of the coalition which governs the representation and communication with others, and handled by Aid Association for Human Rights and Immigration.
C - Heads of departments and divisions – which are appointed by the Coordinator-General of the coalition, which is overseeing their work directly.
