Press Release urgent for publication: Maonah Association for Human Rights proposes the formation of special international criminal tribunal for crimes of terrorism in Yemen, " internationalized Eradication " as the best mechanism for joint legal and effective trial of the al Qaeda leadership and its components are required, especially after the approval of Islah party corresponding to 01/04/2012.

Press Release : Maonah Association for Human Rights proposes the formation of a special international criminal tribunal for terrorism crimes in Yemen, " internationalized Eradication " as the best mechanism for joint legal and effective prosecution of al Qaeda leadership and its components , especially after the approval of the Reform Party that approved on 01/04/2012 for the prosecution of Abdul- Majeed Al-Zindani in front of the Yemeni judiciary.

In the first initiative of an Arab non-governmental Organization in the field of contribution in the fight against terrorism and violence, today the Maonah Association for Human Rights launched the initiative in the form of a proposal calling for the international community represented by Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Government of Yemen to agree quickly on the joint effective legal mechanism to prosecute leaders of al-Qaeda terrorist elements in Yemen through a special international criminal tribunal for terrorism crimes in Yemen, " internationalized Eradication "as the recent courts, "a court of Lebanon as a model," particularly after the approval of the Yemeni Islah Party corresponding to 01/04/2012 AD at the prosecution of Abdul- Majeed Al-Zindani before the the national courts.

The association said in its press statement today: it welcomes the statement of the General Secretariat of the Islah party corresponding to 01/04/2012 AD about his willingness to hand over Zindani on trial for everything attributed to him of the charges related to terrorism and al-Qaeda in response to the comments by U.S. Ambassador to Yemen with the Hayat newspaper of London on 25.3.2012 m, which brought them to recall the demands and decisions of the international community to pursue Zindani and his followers in connection with supporting terrorism, according to the ambassador.

In this regard, the (Association) praised the recent positions and proposals of Islah party on Zindani and were considered to be on the whole, positive and encouraging from the point of the party giving a desire to get rid of wanted terrorist elements within it, but on the other hand it considers the proposals inadequate and unrealistic to be applicated now for several reasons, most important of is the paralysis and the weakness of the Yemeni judiciary now in to view any serious issue like this because of the repercussions of the internal political crisis that affected negatively by technical reasons, while Yemen as a government can not hand over its citizens to the outside, according to the text of the Constitution in force at the same time the government of Yemen is obliged to cooperate more closely with the international community in the fight against terrorism and to prosecute those involved in crimes and to ensure that impunity and thus have to form a special international criminal tribunal for terrorism crimes in Yemen, " internationalized Eradication " is the best joint legal logical and realistic mechanism for joint cooperation between all parties in the fight against terrorism, it also meets the demands of the parties to the internal and the international community alike.

A demand which has already been confirmed and requested by the Association in its data and previous reports, most recently in the 19 session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, and the Association is fully prepared to present and discuss and translate the above proposal, assist and cooperate with any party in the field of explaining the pros and justifications for the proposal and on the titles below and wait for the reaction and the absorption and support of the international community and the Yemeni government and the local parties to the proposal above for of the benefits of promoting international peace and security, regional and local.
