Maonah Association: appeals to the UN Security Council to move from mere rhetoric to action through the opening of investigations in all the crimes of international terrorism that took place in Yemen.

A statement issued by the Maonah Association for Human Rights today: - accused - the international community and the United Nations in collusion with al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Yemen, and left it drowning in the swamp of terrorism, while only statements of condemnation and denunciation were made, as the International Security council and the United Nations did not take any effective and serious action towards the fight against terrorism, which has almost controlled Yemen, and only issuing statements of condemnation of crimes of al Qaeda that happen in Yemen, where the role of the UN Security Council reminding the world that terrorism which is located in Yemen is a source of concern to international peace and security , as evidenced by issuance of more than five resolutions and international reports on this matter, but only on paper, while - on the ground - activities and crimes of international terrorism of al-Qaeda against the Yemenis are growing and multiplying on a daily basis and systematically as it drops every day dozens of dead and wounded civilians and military personnel in Yemen victims of the crimes of this terrorist organization and represent twice the number of casualties in Syria and other countries of interest and follow-up from the international community itself, the concept is in moral contradiction and double standards but it indicates the clear international complicity to delivery Yemen to al-Qaeda terrorist, Perhaps the latest crimes committed by al-Qaeda in Yemen is the crime of assassination of military commander of the South, Major General Salem Cotton on Monday, 18.06.2012 in the city of Aden with a bombing belt that was carried out by a terrorist a citizen of Somalia, which means that we are facing international multi-national terrorism and therefore the international community should bear its moral responsibilities and not merely statements of condemnation , but what is required is a decision of the international community to open international investigations in all the crimes of terrorism that took place in Yemen and the prosecution of terrorism and its partners through effective international mechanism that embodied the true International Partnership in the fight against terrorism on the ground and to ensure terrorists do not escape punishment, and the fact that the Yemeni judiciary is unable to stand with the victims for many reasons, there is no room here to explain.



In conclusion, the Association statement appealed to the international community and UN members just a few hours before the Security Council session the speed to save Yemen from the risk of genocide at the hands of terrorism terrorist organizations, and through opening international investigation into crimes of and the translation of words and data into the real mechanisms on the ground as explained above.
