Association Ma’onah is preparing to participate in the 52nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights team is preparing to participate in the fifty-second regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, from February 27 to April 4, 2023.

Over the next five weeks, the League team in Geneva will follow up on human rights issues and situations on the agenda and will present reports on them, in addition to making oral and written statements and participating in events and activities accompanying the session. It will remind member states of their obligations under international human rights law and international covenants.

Lawyer Mohammed Ali Alaw, head of the Association, said in a press statement to the Association’s website: The participation of the Association’s team in the work of this session during more than a full month comes within the framework of implementing the Association’s ongoing activities and programs that aim to enhance respect for human rights and defend rights and freedoms through monitoring, documenting and exposing violations Serious threats to human rights everywhere around the world, and help victims and affected people to access redress mechanisms, document complaints stipulated in international legislation, seek accountability for persons, entities, and countries involved in committing human rights violations, and ensure that there is no impunity, in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law.

It is worth noting that the text and videos of the briefings, oral and written statements, and human rights reports that will be presented by the Association’s team and its volunteers during the course days will be published on the Association’s website firsthand.
