The Human Rights situation in Yemen - the past 24 hours: Thursday, 2 / February / 2012

Killings:

• Seven of al-Qaeda members killed (three were killed in sniper operations south coast of Zanzibar district, while four others were killed in a Vitara type car that was preparing to carry out a suicide bombing), in two different areas in Zanzibar, the capital of Abyan province (South Yemen).

Attacks:

The Bombing of the Minister of Interior Office and a number of facilities and other security sites of the ministry, by Al-Ahmar gangs, as explosions rocked the locations within the the Ministry building and the headquarters of police and other security personnel sites in a park opposite to the ministry.

• The dozens of protesters and gunmen cut off the main road in the sixty meter St. western Yemeni capital Sana'a and near the home of the Vice President of the Republic..
