The Human Rights situation in Yemen - the past 24 hours: Thursday, 9/February, / 2012



Killings:

• The outcome of the clashes between prisoners of Dhamar Central Prison and its guards to 8 persons killed and 10 wounded, and the clashes broke out yesterday, when the guests, rushed to the courtyard of the prison, during the entry of a guard to provide lunch to the prisoners, that led to confrontations between the parties.

• Al-Khader Hamidi head of Criminal research at the Directorate of Tabn was assassinated this evening while returning to his home in the Tabn area, the assassination was by unknown gunmen, believed to be al-Qaeda.

Attacks:

• acts of torture against Africans refugees by armed gangs in the region of Beni Hassan in Abs directorate and at the border of Haradh directorate in the province of Hajja where these gangs chase some Africans and scare them by shooting at them, as they have arrested and detained these refugees in farms in remote villages such as Alasilah and Sharifian and bani Sinai in poultry houses.
