AMHRI Participates in the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum

The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) will participate with a delegation of its youth representatives in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026, held at United Nations Headquarters in New York from April 14 to 16, 2026, under the theme: “Innovation, Unity, and Transformation: Youth Driving the Path to 2030.”
Through its active engagement in the Forum’s sessions, AMHRI seeks to amplify the voice of Arab youth within international platforms, particularly in light of the serious geopolitical shifts affecting the region. In this context, the Association’s delegation will present detailed reports and documented field testimonies to participants, exposing the scale of Iranian interventions and their direct repercussions on sustainable development efforts in the Gulf States, Jordan, Iraq, and Azerbaijan.
The President of AMHRI, Mohammed Ali Alaw, emphasized that these acts of Iranian aggression directly undermine the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and threaten the future of youth in the region. He noted that such actions fundamentally contradict the principles and vision of the Forum for the 2030 Agenda—particularly in areas including clean water and sanitation (Goal 6), affordable and clean energy (Goal 7), industry, innovation, and infrastructure (Goal 9), sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11), and partnerships for the goals (Goal 17).
In this regard, the Head of AMHRI’s delegation stated:
“There can be no meaningful discussion of sustainable development or a dignified future for youth in the presence of armed actors that destabilize nations and drain public resources. What we are witnessing in terms of systematic Iranian interference in the affairs of sovereign states represents a real obstacle to the entire 2030 Agenda.”
AMHRI will call upon the international community and the United Nations to prioritize youth security and regional stability within the Forum’s discussions, and to take serious action to end Iranian aggression, which continues to hinder the legitimate aspirations of an entire generation of Arab youth.
