AMHRI Participates in the 63rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva .

The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) announces the participation of its human rights team in the 63rd regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, taking place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from 7 September to 7 October 2026.
AMHRI’s team will participate in interactive dialogues and panel discussions, deliver oral and written statements, and hold meetings with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and civil society organizations, with the aim of placing the human rights situation in Yemen at the forefront of international discussions.
AMHRI’s participation will focus on:
• Violations committed by all parties to the conflict in Yemen.
• The impact of internal and regional escalation on civilians.
• Enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention, and the protection of human rights defenders, journalists, and humanitarian workers.
• The hunger crisis, the collapse of essential services, and economic and social rights.
• The domestic accountability gap and the continuing climate of impunity.
AMHRI will also submit its human rights report on the situation in Yemen, covering the period from 1 January to 30 August 2026. The report includes an analysis of human rights violations and regional developments, as well as a critical review of the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, document A/HRC/63/78.
AMHRI calls upon the Human Rights Council to establish an independent, impartial, and comprehensive international investigative mechanism to investigate serious violations committed in Yemen since 2011; collect and preserve evidence; support accountability processes; and guarantee victims’ rights to truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-recurrence.
AMHRI emphasizes that technical assistance alone is insufficient to address the collapse of the justice system and that sustainable peace in Yemen cannot be achieved without fair and non-selective accountability and genuine redress for victims.

AMHRI invites the Member States of the Human Rights Council, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and international and national organizations to cooperate with its team during the session, participate in the meetings and activities it will organize, and support efforts to place the situation in Yemen within a more effective international framework for protecting civilians, advancing justice, and securing redress for victims.
